Weight Loss with Fresh Juicesadmin
We found out how to lose weight with fresh juices and whether it is possible to do this without harming one’s health.
In the USA alone, fresh juices are an industry with an annual turnover of $ 5 billion. Today, a juice diet for weight loss has about as many followers as there are violent opponents. The former lose weight and radiate positive, the latter are confident that the former cause irreparable harm to their health. We listened to both sides and sorted out the issue.
Blake Lively, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sarah Jessica Parker, Salma Hayek are regularly cleaned with juices. Jennifer Aniston’s Detox Mix is a thermonuclear cocktail made from fresh cucumbers, beets, spinach, kale, garlic, ginger, carrots and celery. On juices you can really lose weight – they are low-calorie, easily digestible, do not contain fat. Plus – especially if fruits and vegetables are seasonal – you get a powerful charge of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
Adherents of jushing argue that, in addition to a radical cleansing of the body, such a diet eliminates migraines, insomnia, skin problems, and thrush. There is also a serious psychological point – a juice diet (at least for the first time) gives a long-awaited feeling of lightness and a sense of control over your own body. And often control over the body is about the same as control over life.
What does a perfect juice diet look like?
Juice detox sounds, of course, nice. However, by the end of the first day there is a risk of feeling such an acute attack of hunger that it will simply be impossible to break loose. In order to successfully complete the full course of a juice diet, which usually takes 3-7 days, it is important to follow some rules in order not to give the body a reason for additional stress.
Start the day with warm water and lemon juice. During the day, do not forget about herbal teas, warm water with lemon or ginger. They not only fill the stomach, preventing you from feeling hungry, but also do excellent cleansing work in the intestines, which, in fact, is one of the goals of detox.
Given that juices are digested faster than a full breakfast or lunch, be prepared to increase the number of meals per day. It is best to drink a bottle of juice at least 6 times a day, with breaks of 2 hours. Remember: juice should not be outside the refrigerator for more than 8 hours!
Since in the morning our body is especially hungry and ready to digest and assimilate the maximum amount of healthy foods, green smoothies are most preferable for breakfast, because they contain the most varied cocktail of healthy microelements.
Eating during a juice diet is prohibited. However, cucumber or celery, for example, for the most part consists of water. So to eat a couple of such vegetables during the day is quite possible – they do not violate the regime, but psychologically they are perceived as a meal.
It is very important to gradually get out of detox. On the first day, add vegetables and apples to the diet. On the second day, you can already cook cereal dishes and snack with nuts. On the third day, the body will be ready to adequately perceive the usual food (of course, without cupcakes and croissants – not for nothing that you went through all this!). And remember: no unnecessary stress! Too fast a return to heavy food is also stress.
Symptoms of juice detox: when the body gets rid of excess coffee, you can feel a headache, nervousness and even a slight tremor in the body; getting rid of excess protein, meat or fat, as a rule, is accompanied by a skin reaction, a possible unpleasant odor or skin tightness. This is normal!
What is the danger?
A couple of years ago, doctors announced the epidemic of “juusorexia” (from the words juice and anorexia): the number of women who have been sitting exclusively on juices for months and neglecting any other food is growing exponentially. Many then become patients in rehabilitation centers with a diagnosis of anorexia, serious symptoms of addiction, and poor health.
There is really a lot of “but” in juice detox. Fruits and vegetables have a lot of sugar, they give quick flashes of energy, which are usually followed by recessions – brutal attacks of hunger, weakness and dizziness. They are acidic – it causes gastritis and a stomach ulcer. Due to the fact that not enough fiber enters the body, after a while the cholesterol level jumps and constipation begins. There is a lack of protein (this is the worst, a mammal cannot exist without it), calcium and vitamin D, not to mention unsaturated fats necessary for the skin.
The insulin level jumps – because of this, the production of collagen and elastin is disrupted, the skin becomes noticeably drier and premature wrinkles appear. In the future, diabetes may develop. Even a two-week juice detox after three months responds to the fact that hair begins to fall out. Intensive jushing is also harmful for teeth – the sugars and acids contained in fruits and vegetables corrode enamel and provoke tooth decay. (Therefore, doctors recommend drinking freshly squeezed juices only from a tube and not running immediately after brushing your teeth. Better, oddly enough, brushing your teeth BEFORE and preferably using fluoride paste.) And most importantly, after stopping the juice diet, there is a big risk to come back almost immediately at the same weight or even gain more.
